SATISFY : The God-Shaped Void

Ever been in a place where you constantly crave for fulfilment? Both consciously and subconsciously! Then everything or everyone you turn to does not quite bring the ultimate fulfilment. At the beginning, they seem to be it before things start going downhill. Soon enough, You realise that the few or numerous liquor shots, getting high on weed/shisha/muguka, one night stands, being a workaholic, amassing untold wealth,..etc can only sustain you for a short while before they leave you feeling worse than before, like the taste of gravel in your mouth, that you just want to spit out and never get back to!
The fact that God created us simply means that He is our ultimate source. Source of inspiration, joy, peace, hope, love, strength and ultimately the one who Satisfies our soul, spirit and body. Not only is he a source. He is a Sustainable Source. Never runs out. The rest are undependable sources, they are here today and gone tomorrow. They supply both satisfaction and a tinge of guilt, shame and doubt (if we are really gaining anything from it).
As for God, we never have to worry about lacking meaning in life, feeling shortchanged, constantly battling the need to search for another source of fulfilment. He is enough. If anything, He makes sure that we got all we need, till our cup runneth over and saturates those around us with His sense of Satisfaction.
Having said that, we are all aware that we can never truly experience satisfaction from someone or something we barely know and have no relationship with. Like every other relationship, our relationship with Christ has to cultivated. When we meet new friends or potential SOs it marks the beginning of an interesting experience getting to know the other person. What they like, what they don't like, the name they prefer to be called by.. A relationship with Christ in a way demands this same principle. We have to be willing to know Him and know Him for ourselves. On top of  what we've heard about Him from our parents, pastors, friends, children, spouses, colleagues,... It's important we get to experience Him for ourselves. Through the Word, prayer, fellowship with other believers, the nature, music etc
As Joyce Omondi puts it "There is a God-shaped void in each of us and only He can fill. In His arms is where we belong. May this song encourage you to always run to Him."
For He declared in His word:
John 6:35 ~ And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

Blessings to you and may we all find the satisfaction that we so long for in Christ alone.
